Choose your path
Start with WeldWorks in seven weeks, choose a 12-week program, or take Construction Trades across two terms. Every certificate stands on its own.

Train in MIG, TIG, stick and flux-core, with focused GMAW preparation for the AWS D1.1 3G plate qualification test. Build from machine setup and basic prints to vertical groove welds on 3/8-inch plate.

Complete the WeldWorks curriculum, then add five weeks of advanced blueprint reading, layout, cutting, fitting and fabrication. Build two documented portfolio projects and a capstone of your own design. WeldWorks graduates may enter at week 8.

Work at the forge, explore heat treatment and metallurgy, and learn casting, precision measurement and fabrication. Take a part from material selection through joining and finishing.

Create SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies and engineering drawings. Design for manufacturing, print prototypes and explore robotics and automation while building a portfolio.

Learn measurement, workholding, tooling, CAM programming, mill and lathe setup, first-article inspection and production documentation.
Two 12-week terms · 216 hours per term
Term I covers jobsite safety, tools, measurement, plans and framing. Term II explores electrical and energy basics, plumbing, roofing, masonry, concrete and finish work, ending with a capstone structure. Each term earns its own certificate.

Troubleshoot mechanical systems, electrical circuits, motors, sensors, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics. Practice preventive maintenance and use work orders to document repairs.

Prepare surfaces, apply powder and liquid coatings, understand corrosion, and inspect film thickness and adhesion. Practice rework and restoration on real parts.
Materials and project stock are included; WeldWorks includes its manual, plate, gas and consumables. Confirm the current start date and enrollment terms before registering.
The standard
Your Kilroy’s Workshop certificate is awarded on demonstrated competency. Industry qualifications are separate and administered by independent bodies; passing an industry test is not required to earn the school certificate.
For WeldWorks and Welding & Fabrication, pass the AWS D1.1 3G test on your first attempt during the program and receive $900 in welding gear, as described in the catalog.
Your week in the shop
Classes meet Monday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with an hour for lunch: six instructional hours per day.
You’ll work at your own station, receive feedback and complete competency checkoffs. No unexcused absences; documented excused absences are made up in scheduled shop time.
Welding gear and shop PPE are provided. For hot work, wear closed-toe shoes, jeans and a cotton shirt. Absolutely no synthetic fabrics.
Admissions
You must be at least 16 and complete an intake interview. No prior experience is required for entry-level programs.
